There seemed to be a fresh war in Warri Kingdom as the Olu, HRM Ogiame Atuwatse III on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 installed a new Ologbotsere (Prime Minister) of Warri Kingdom.

The move by the Olu has infuriated the former Ologbotsere, Chief Ayirimi Emami, whom we gathered walked out of the Olu of Warri, saying that he remains the Ologbotsere.

Ayiri said; “I am still in possession of the traditional beads that are presented to me by the former Kings, HRM Ogiame Atuwatse II and HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli and the Uda.”

However, the king in a statement said; “As far as Warri kingdom is concerned, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. True reconciliation will not be forced on Ogiame.”

“There is no son or daughter of Itsekiri that will hold this throne to ransom and so the terms of reconciliation will be determined by Ogiame. The reason we are doing this publicly is a divine one.”

“I have struggled, resisted trying to come down and be vulnerable before my people. It is not an easy thing to do.”

Recall that Ayiri was strongly opposed to the king’s coronation in August 2021. This led to the monarch derobing him and also barring him from the palace.

However, those in the know squealed to us that few weeks to the installation of the new Ologbotsere that the monarch visited one of his communities and afterward sent for Ayiri to visit him following peace moves initiated by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and others.

We gathered that the King later met with Ayiri on Friday April 14, 2023 and on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 he called for a meeting where he installed the new Ologbotsere.

The King in said going forward that Ayiri should accept his late father’s title and he (Ayiri)refused and the king asked him to leave his Palace.

For those who don’t know, the new Ologbotsere is Chief Oma Eyewuoma. He is the former Aboludero of Warri Kingdom.
