The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the previous election, Atiku Abubakar, has raised serious allegations against President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Speaking at an event in Abuja on Monday, January 27th, 2025, Atiku claimed that the Tinubu administration is bribing opposition party leaders with N50 million each to destabilize Nigeria’s democratic processes.
According to Atiku, a leader of a political party in the opposition revealed to him that they had received such payments from the APC-led government.
Atiku said: “I want to make it clear publicly. I met with an opposition party leader, and they told me directly that this government gives them N50 million each.”
“If we are not careful, some of you here may unknowingly be recipients of the N50 million from the APC government. Do we truly want to preserve our democracy?”
