Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has revealed to Nigerians that he was offered a pipeline contract by President Bola Tinubu, but he turned him down because he was not interested.
The ex-militant disclosed this in an interview with Arise TV recently.
He said: “I’ve met President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. I met him both on and off camera. He asked me, ‘Are you interested in a pipeline?’ He will be listening now.”
“I told him I’m not interested in a pipeline contract. He is alive. I told him I am not interested. But I can assist those who are doing the pipeline contract in any way I can for your government to succeed.”
“But I’m not interested. So I never said that it was personal gain I was looking for. I clearly stated in all my broadcasts that my needs are very small. My needs are very small.”
