Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has stunned many with his recent revelation regarding President Bola Tinubu.
In an interview discussing the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, El-Rufai admitted that he was never personally close to Tinubu, contradicting common assumptions of their relationship.
He further revealed that he was largely indifferent to the choice of candidate during the party’s primary, offering a candid insight into his stance at the time.
El-Rufai said; “I was indifferent on who became the presidential candidate of APC.”
“The only thing I was determined to do was to stop a Northerner from becoming the candidate of the party based on what I know.”
“When we formed the party in 2013, we agreed that after Buhari’s 8years, power will go to the South.”
“Tinubu was never my friend, we weren’t close”.
