The Speaker of a State House of Assembly is now swimming in a N3million mess. Insiders said the speaker collected the money from those the governor nominated as commissioners sent to the house for clearance. Those spreading the tale said after the nominees paid him the money they just appeared before the house, took a bow and left. They said what was supposed to be a thorough screening by the lawmakers turned out to be a just take a bow and go because the speaker has pocketed cool millions of naira. We were told that some of the lawmakers who were not given their own share of the loot are now threatening fire and brimstone.
