The legal battle between Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido and his Baby Mama, Sophia Momodu has taken another dimension.
Recall that Davido had filed a suit seeking custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
The suit was filed by his lawyers at the Lagos High Court on April 17th, 2024, where he prayed the court for an order granting him unrestricted access to the daughter.
However, Sophia Momodu in a counter affidavit opposed the singer over joint custody of their daughter.
Sophia filed the 102 paragraphs of counter affidavit through her legal team Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorney and Dr Bimpe Ajegbomogun.
The suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, has as applicant Mr David Adedeji Adeleke, while Ms Sophia Momodu was listed as the sole respondent which marked the beginning of their legal battle over the child’s custody.
Davido, had before now revealed to everyone that cares to know that he has consistently fulfilled his financial responsibilities towards their child’s well-being, despite his efforts Sophia has been making unreasonable demands, seemingly designed to harass and frustrate him.
However, Sophia through her legal representatives, denied the allegations. She said Davido by his own choice has refused to see their daughter since July 2022.
According to Sophia, she has solely shouldered responsibility for their daughter since the last two years while Davido posts Imade’s pictures on social media to “falsely portray himself as a supportive and active father.”
