In a historic event that marks a new chapter for Ekiti Central Constituency and Ekiti State as a whole, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), the Leader of the 10th Senate, on Thursday kicked off his highly anticipated annual empowerment program in Ado Ekiti. This initiative, designed to uplift artisans, students, and other members of the community, is the largest of its kind in both the constituency and the state’s history.

The empowerment program saw over 1,000 beneficiaries receive cash grants of N100,000 each, part of a broader initiative valued in billions of Naira. In addition to the cash, Senator Bamidele distributed a range of vital items including ambulances for state hospitals, mini-buses, tricycles, lawn mowers, sewing machines, makeup kits, motorcycles, generators, cooking gas cylinders, books, and many other essential items to improve the livelihoods of his constituents.
Governor Oyebanji Abayomi (BAO) of Ekiti State was on hand to oversee the distribution, personally handing out the items to recipients. The event also drew a host of dignitaries, including the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, and several prominent figures, as well as friends of the distinguished senator.
The mood at the venue was one of overwhelming gratitude and excitement, with many beneficiaries expressing their joy through songs and chants in praise of Senator Bamidele. One recipient expressed, “Now I can categorically say we are truly enjoying the dividends of our democracy.”
This empowerment program underscores Senator Bamidele’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of his people, ensuring that they continue to enjoy the benefits of democratic governance.
