Police Arrests Lagos ‘Keke’ Riders’ Chairman For Fighting Police Officer

The Chairman of Tricycle Riders Association, Ikeja, Oladimeji Ahmed, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for fighting a policeman on his duty post.

The Lagos State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyi disclosed this in a statement on Friday, August 9th, 2024, after a video of the Keke driver squaring up with the policeman surfaced on the internet.

The statement reads; “Oladimeji Ahmed, aged 48, Ikeja Chairman of Tricycle Riders Association, has been arrested for serious assault on police officer.”

“Ahmed assaulted an Inspector of Police who attempted to impound a motorcycle and arrest the rider for flagrantly obstructing traffic in Ikeja at about 1800hrs on Friday, August 9, 2024.”

Hundeyin, disclosed that the police is investigating the matter.
