Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been commended for his efforts in ensuring the beautification and environmental sustainability of the state.
Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification, Chief Emmanuel Okpomo gave the commendation in a statement on Sunday in Asaba.
Chief Okpomo appreciated Governor Oborevwori for giving him the opportunity to serve Deltans in that capacity and for providing him with necessary facilities and equipments to function effectively in the office.
He appealed to Deltans to cooperate with government in ensuring environmental protection and sanitation for the sustainability of health and safety of the people.
He said a clean environment impacts positively on economic activities and livelihoods of people and encouraged Deltans and residents to be eco-friendly in a bid to make Delta investment destination of choice.
“As we gradually enter the yuletide season, environmental development and sustainability remains an important aspect of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.”
“One of the policy objectives of the Oborevwori administration is to improve waste management for better public health and environmental sanitation in urban and rural areas and make waste management more efficient, effective and sustainable.”
