The story of America based “Yeyelufe of Ikereku land” Egbeyemi Omitola Olayinka, formerly Alhaja Kuburat Olayinka, can be likened to the biblical story of Jonah who had refused to go to where God sent him to preach and was swallowed by fish and met himself where he never wanted to go and started preaching the gospel.
According to Omitola; “I have lived here in America for over 20 years,as a practicing Muslim until some time ago in 2016 when I fell into a trance, I saw myself being forcefully driven into swampy forest by a force I could not explain till date, some of the leaves of the trees were hitting my face as the journey continued.”
“Different leaves and herbs were also shown to me in the journey, we journeyed so fiercely until we got to a place where I was dropped in front of a small temple that I have never seen before in my entire life, fortunately today that place was the temple where I was initiated as a in Abeokuta when I eventually visited Nigeria after the ordeal.”
A very successful business lady, Omitola further said she was so ashamed initially to become “Yemoja” priestess despite several warnings from some faithfuls. “I discovered my hair becoming dreadlocks immediately after my initiation that was when the reality started dawning on me.”
She further said; “Here in America people come from far and near for consultations and for other life problems and thanks to the deities they have never gone back disappointed.”
“Also where ever I travel to across the globe especially in Nigeria people also come for healings and other spiritual issues which I have been able to solve by using only water and herbs.”
Yeyelufe travels very often to attend to the need of her clients.
She said; “My advice to all the people in the world is that where ever we are, we must respect and embrace our traditions and customs because the deities are alive. “Ore Yeye o”
