These are not the best of times for the Nigerian movie industry as one of the heavyweights in the sector, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe has passed on.
For those who don’t know, the deceased is a renowned filmmaker and the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Africa Movies Academy Awards (AMAA).
She died on Monday, January 9th, 2022 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria after a brief illness.
Popular Nigerian movie director, Obi Emelonye, confirming her death, took to his Instagram page and wrote; “Thank you and good night dada Peace.”
