Zamfara State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has said that it is perfectly satisfied with the N12.98 billion allocated to the health sector in the state for 2021 fiscal year by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
NMA’s State Vice-Chairman, Dr. Sanusi Bello disclosed that the N12.98 billion represents nine percent of the total budget of the state.
He said; “The N12.98 billion allocation has been the highest amount being allocated to the sector in the history of the state. It is in tandem to the current COVID-19 global pandemic.”
“In fact, we are perfectly satisfied with the greater priority being accorded to the health sector. I commend the state government for the construction of the state’s isolation and treatment center and infectious diseases hospitals across the state.”
“I also commend the state government for the expansion of Ahmed Yarima Bakura Specialist hospital, construction of 147 PHC and 14 women and children hospitals in the state.”
