The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) led by Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) has been taken to the cleaners by some Nigerians for associating itself with Nigerian famous singer, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley in its War Against Drug Advocacy campaign.
Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to express shock over the collaboration between Naira Marley and the NDLEA.
The singer’s declaration to work with the NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse has gotten many people talking as the character of the singer was heavily questioned.
For those who don’t know, Naira Marley on Thursday, August 17th, 2023, visited the NDLEA boss, Marwa in Abuja to declare his support on the Agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign.
Naira Marley said: “I would like to urge my fans, Marlians, and all the Nigerian youths, to stop doing drugs because it is not good for your wellbeing. Let’s all stop substance abuse in any form.”
“I have keyed into this campaign [War Against Drug Abuse] to support NDLEA to stop drug [abuse] in the streets. Drug abuse is really not good. It makes you go back to crimes. It does a lot of things to you.”
