The National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity), Zuma Deck is a non-governmental and a social Advocacy organization. In pursuance of one of her core mandates, for humanistic ideals organized a free medical mission in collaboration with GDI on Saturday 28th October, 2023.
The free medical mission was hosted at Paze Community in Byhazin across of Bwari Area Council in FCT.
The mission witnessed screening for various health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, malaria and different eye problems. Free laboratory investigations were conducted while free consultations and medications were dispensed for various common ailments noted in the community. Free eye consultations and corrective lenses were also given out.
In all, over five hundred members of the community benefitted from the medical mission some of whom expressed their gratitude to the association.
Speaking at the Event the Capoon of Zuma deck of NAS, Mr Nnamdi Eze, reiterated the need to supplement the effort of the government in bridging the obvious gaps in health care coverage.
The second mate of Zuma deck and also Program Director, Dr Uju Patrick C. described the choice of the location as being premised on the absence of any functional health post in the entire community comprising of three villages.
He also stated that another aim of the mission is to create awareness and to draw the attention of the government and other policy makers to the plight of the community.
