President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra Indimi, has demanded retraction and apology from Sahara Reporters over allegation of conniving with others to defraud the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Sahara Reporters had alleged that Nasiru Danu, a close associate of President Buhari and some top officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, recently defrauded the Nigerian government of a staggering sum of N51 billion.
Sahara Reporters reported that the N51 billion was meant to improve Customs’ revenue while the sum of N2.5 billion from the said amount was allegedly transferred to a Foundation owned by Zahra for which Mr. Danu is a signatory.
However, Zahra has denied the allegation and has given Sahara Reporters a 7-day ultimatum to apologize and retract its report, while failure to meet the demands will lead to filing of a lawsuit.
This is contained in a letter titled; “RE: INJURIOUS AND DEFAMATORY PUBLICATIONS AGAINST ZAHRA BUHARI-INDIMI (MRS.)”, signed by Dr. Nasiru Adamu Aliyu (SAN).
