The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, has confirmed that the suspected killer of 22 year old Oluwabamise Ayanwole has been apprehended by the joint effort of DSS and police officers in Lagos command.
He disclosed this on Monday, March 7th, 2022 at a media briefing.
Grieving the loss, the CP said; “We are saddened by the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22-year-old lady who was abducted while traveling from Chevron to Oshodi. Detectives were dispatched and search party was organized to know the whereabouts of the lady.”
“Sadly when the investigation was ongoing, information was received that the body was found on Carter bridge by the community in Lagos Island. The corpse has been deposited at the Lagos Island Hospital.”
“While we were working tirelessly, information was received from our sister agency, DSS about the suspect. The suspect, Andrew Nice, 47-year-old was successfully handed over to us for further investigation.”
“We want to assure the public and the immediate family that justice will be served. May we also use this opportunity to alert other killers in the state that there is no room for them in this state. They will be apprehended. The security architecture has been positioned for the security of all and sundry in the state.”
Confirming the arrest earlier, the Police PRO in Lagos, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said: ‘This is to further inform the general public that the BRT driver, Andrew Nice, ‘m’ suspected to be responsible for the adoption and murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who got missing on board a BRT bus on 26th February, 2022 has been arrested by operatives of the DSS and has been handed over to the police.”

“We therefore appeal to aggrieved persons and sympathisers not to take the law into their hands as the command is doing everything legally possible to prosecute this case.”
