The founder of Kaduna International Film (KADIFF) and Vice Chairman Nigeria Film Festivals Association (NFFA), Audu Kashim Israel, felicitates with Christian faithful around the world at Christmas 2023.
In his Christmas message titled “He has come to save us; Welcome Emmanuel”, Audu believes that Jesus has come to save us from the troubles of this world at this time that a lot is happening around us; kidnapping, banditry, religious intolerance, lack of love for one another, wrong political polices by political leaders hereby causing hardship to citizens, evil acts, etc.
The message also highlights the role and importance of culture in promoting peace and unity in our community.
Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December annually to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name ‘Christmas’ and not ‘Xmas’ comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life.
As we celebrate this year’s Christmas and exchange gifts to family and friends let us perform a small act of kindness especially to the sick, orphans, less privileged, widows and non-christians.
May this Christmas brings healing to broken families, fulfillment to your dreams, those seeking the fruits of the womb, peace to our nation, healing to the sick and may we who are called to be perfect like God drop our pride and enter into the world of those less privileged than ourselves and follow God’s teachings. Let this season remind us to love, forgive, promote peace, religious tolerance, let your words bring peace and not division.
As the year also comes to an end, Audu appreciates everyone who has supported the Kaduna International Film Festivaland all its activities this year, he prays that God blesses us all and grants our hearts desires as we prepare to enter the new year 2024.
