KADIFF Boss, Audu Israel Calls For Unity, Collaboration Among Film Practitioners

The Executive Director, Kaduna International Film Festival and Vice Chairman Nigerian film festivals association, Audu Kashim Israel was a speaker and panelists at the first-ever Business of Entertainment Conference, a game-changing event in collaboration with Africa Creative Market (ACM).

This was where Africa’s top minds, trailblazers, and industry pros converged to unlock the limitless potential of creativity, tech, and business in entertainment.

The topic of discussion was “Guild and Associations – Advancing Industry Standards, Protecting Creators’ Rights And Fostering The Creative”, Audu emphasised on the need for collaboration and unity among film practitioners and creatives and the role guilds and associations should play in achieving this and ensuring the industry’s national progress and international representation.

Audu also highlighted that some international creative programs should also be hosted in northern Nigeria but very important that state governors in northern Nigeria support and pay more attention to the film industry because just like there is money in oil there is money in “Nollywood” too and Nollywood has contributed to a boost in Nigeria’s GDP.

The event which was held on September 17, 2024 at Landmark Event Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria had top industry players and stakeholders in attendance including government officials like Dr. Shuaibu Husseini, DG, National film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Mr. Obi Asika DG National council for art and culture Nigeria, Alh. Lai Mohammed former minister for information and culture among others.
