Bet, many people don’t know that popular Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo is a politician.
The actor contested for the just concluded parliamentary election in Ghana on the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He emerged winner of Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, defeating the incumbent, Lydia Alhassan of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The actor was declared winner of the parliamentary election at the country’s general elections on Saturday December 7th, 2024.
For those who don’t know, John Dumelo has been into politics for some years, he contested for the constituency seat in 2020 where he lost to Alhassan.
Interestingly, the actor won the election with a landslide victory, scoring 40,561 votes, while Lydia Alhassan polled 27,377.
