Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in the state.
The incumbent Governor was declared winner as his main contenders; Hon. Sani Jaji, and Hon. Abdul Malik Garba Gajam withdrew from the race moments before the election which was free from rancour.
Delegates from 14 Local Government Areas of the state were thoroughly screened by the security operatives before being granted access to the Zamfara State township stadium, venue of the event to perform the all important role.
Our sources revealed that all the APC leaders in the State unanimously endorsed Governor Matawalle’s unopposed victory, so also the former Governor of the State, Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari.
According to our sources, Yari was heard saying; “APC is the only known party to the good people of Zamfara state.”
