Funke Akindele Pardoned After Breaching Covid-19 Rule

Nollywood star actress, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa has been pardoned by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State Government over Covid-19 protocol breach.

The State Government on Friday, October 9th, 2020 granted the pardon to the actress and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello a.k.a JJC Skillz.

Lagos State Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo disclosed this.

He said; “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also approved the release of 56 inmates from various correctional centres.”

 “Sanwo-Olu acted based on the recommendations of the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, under the powers conferred on the Governor by Section 212 (1) & (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.”

“All the beneficiaries should be good citizens and stay away from illegal and criminal activities.”

For those who don’t know, Funke Akindele and her husband were convicted in April, 2020 for breaching the Covid-19 protocols and lockdown rules after they held a party in their home at 9 Gbadamosi Close, Amen Estate in Abijo where they hosted more than the number of persons allowed at gatherings.

Famous Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde Gbadamosi among others attended the function.
