Super Eagles winger and Atalanta star, Ademola Lookman, stole the spotlight at the 2024 CAF Awards held on Monday night in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Nigerian football sensation arrived at the prestigious event in stunning traditional attire, accompanied by his proud parents.
Lookman was crowned the CAF Player of the Year, beating stiff competition from Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and South Africa’s goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
The recognition comes after an exceptional year for Lookman, who made history as the first player since 1975 to score a hat-trick in a Europa League/UEFA Cup final. The winger’s incredible feat came within just 26 minutes against Bayer Leverkusen.
His stellar performances earned him a spot in the Europa League Team of the Year, cementing his status as one of the continent’s top talents. Lookman was also ranked 14th at the Ballon d’Or gala on October 28, a testament to his growing global reputation.
The CAF award is a significant milestone in Lookman’s career, further solidifying his place among Africa’s football elite.
