Former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion is in hot soup as report reaching us at the moment has it that he has been picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Famous People Magazine gathered that the former governor is being grilled by the operatives of the EFCC over alleged diversion of public funds to the tune of N1.6 billion.
Sources squealed that Igbinedion arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja around 2pm on Thursday, November 11th, 2021.
It is interesting to know that Lucky Igbinedion was prosecuted by the EFCC and convicted for corruption shortly after his exit as governor in 2007.
Be that as it may, sources at the EFCC disclosed that; “The former governor diverted a loan obtained by the Edo State Government to finance an investment during his tenure, to settle the financial indebtedness of a company in which he had interest.”
