The suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).
He was arrested on Friday, May 9th, 2023 shortly after he was suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the president, Emefiele was suspended due to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
Be that as it may, Mr. Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, has been appointed as the acting Governor of CBN.
For those who don’t know, Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi was CBN’s Deputy Governor, Operations Directorate before his new appointment as the acting Governor.
