Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki’s deputy, Philip Shaibu, has declared his ambition to run for the governorship election in the state come 2024 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shaibu, made the announcement on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at the Bishop Kelly Centre in Benin, Edo State.
He said; “I am a homeboy, I understand the people’s plight and I want the electorate and party members to support my desire.”
“After 30 years in politics and seven years of working with Governor Godwin Obaseki to rebuild the state, I am in the best position to succeed my principal.”
“Nobody can stop my ambition.”
“If elected governor of the state in 2024, I promise to provide practical governance.”
