The Department of State Security Services (DSS) has denied arresting the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
This is contrary to the reports making the rounds that the DSS operatives invaded Emefiele’s office on Monday, January 16th, 2023 with the intention to arrest him.
However, DSS in a statement by its Spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said;
“The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the false news making the round that its operatives invaded the Central Bank of Nigeria and arrested its Governor, today 16/1/23.”
“This is fake news and quite misleading.”
