Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Organisation, Asiwaaju Dele Taiwo, said the programme was meant to reach out to people with medical needs especially the elders in the community who are among the neglected and abandoned elders in the society to offer some support to them and help restore their happiness and hope.

He said: “The elderly in Nigeria and most part of Africa are abandoned and not being catered for.”

“Why we seek for better government policy that will touch lives positively, we’re trying to bring succour to them in their natural environment where they can feel happy and be optimistic about the future. We want to restore hope back to them because so many of them have been disconnected from the society and our leaders are careless about the situation.”

“So, I and my wife has taken this upon ourselves to act as a voice for the voiceless, many of these elderly people are facing lot of problems and no one shows concern and these are people that has contributed immensely towards the growth of the society but today they’re abandoned.”

“We need to create that awareness so that support can be given to them, and so that they can be carried along in the scheme of proper care. So, today, we’re here to give them life and make them happy. We’re offering them free medical tests and drugs just to help their health.”

“So far, 12 people has been enlisted this week for free eyes surgery and free drugs to help people living with high blood pressure, also free eye drops, this program is no age bound, it’s open to all and sundry and by God’s grace, we’re going to continue the next phase as from February 2022.”
