Experts have consistently cited the lack of physical resources including basic equipment and infrastructure such as running water, combined with limited human resources, education, and specialist neonatal training as key barriers to delivering quality care neonatal care in Nigeria.
However, Cradle and Mum Specialist Hospital Owerri, Imo State, has since its inception taken it upon itself to change this narrative and has recorded tremendous success in that regard.
The hospital, with its state-of-the-art medical facilities and neonatal experts, has nurtured to life, a plethora of pre-term babies to the delight of their parents.
Grateful to God for using it to save neonatal lives, Cradle and Mum recently celebrated pre-term survivors and their amazing parents.
The celebration coincided with the World Premature Day Celebration with the theme, “Small Action, Big Impact”. It was held at Grand Amari Resort, Owerri.
During the event, the hospital distributed oxygen cylinders and resuscitation equipment to midwives and gave out gifts to the preterms.
