Information reaching us right now has it that Nigerian comedian and skit star, Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola who was detained by the Nigerian Navy has finally been released.
Naval Spokesperson, Commodore Suleman Dahun confirmed his release.
According to the Naval Spokesman, “Abdulgafar Ahmad knowingly violated the armed forces’ social media policy but was given a light punishment after he was tried for misconduct and indiscipline.”
Dahun also added that Abdulgafar Ahmad is no longer in the naval detention as he has been released to serve his punishment.
For those who don’t know, Cute Abiola is a naval personnel but was detained for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Policy.
Nigerian Navy Spokesperson, Suleman Dahun had revealed in a statement on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 that; “Ahmad is in the custody of his unit for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Policy and refusal to obey particular orders.”
“The Navy reminded its personnel to comply with the provisions of military rules in their usage of social media platforms.”
“The policy is emplaced to protect their safety and security as well as the information integrity of the activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”
