The late Madam Helen Obioma Ibemere, nee Nnabugwu will be laid to rest on Friday March 21st, 2025 at her compound in Umukegwu, Akokwa, Ideato North local government area of Imo state.
Aged 77, the late Mrs Ibemere was the mother of a business mogul, Mr Chuks Ibemere(Ihemerenma) CEO, Happy Home Merchants ltd.
A burial arrangement signed by him indicates that the remains of the late matriarch of the Ibemere family will leave Mater Amabilis Mortuary Akokwa for her compound at 7 am for lying in state after which a requiem mass in her honour will be held at St. Aloysious Catholic Church, Umuekegwu.
She will be interred in her compound shortly after and this will be followed by entertainment of guests at the same venue.
Condolences visits by inlaws and other sympathisers take place on Saturday, 22nd March while Thanksgiving mass in honour of the deceased holds the next day, Sunday, the 23rd of March at the aforementioned Catholic church.
A businesswoman, devoted Christian and philanthropist during her life time, the late Mrs Ibemere died on November 21st, 2024.
Reflecting on the life and time of his late mother, Chuks described her as a mother like no other who brought up her children according to the dictates of Christian virtues.
“She was selfless to a fault. My mother stooped that others, including we her children, might stand, she crawled that others might walk and walked that others might run. She was an Angel. She will be sorely missed” Chuks said.
Waxing philosophical, Chuks quoted Abraham Lincoln to buttress his points about his mother’s salutary life: “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years”
