Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola Retires

The information reaching us right now has it that Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has retired as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

For those who don’t know, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola is the 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria prior to his retirement from service.

His retirement became necessary after reaching 70years. He was born on 22 August, 1954.

Justice Ariwoola was elevated to the bench of the Supreme Court November 22nd, 2011. He was appointed substantive CJN on 27 June, 2022.

His appointment as the CJN came, following the resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad.

He was officially confirmed Chief Justice of Nigeria by the Nigerian Senate on 21 September 2022.

Meanwile, there are indications that Ariwoola’s successor would be Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new CJN.
