Chief Chizoba Ayika is a happy man and he has every reason to be so because he is a prophet who has been loudly recognised by his own people.
Prophets are rarely recognised in their own land, so says the Holy Book, the Bible, but the Enugwu-Ukwu community in Lagos seems to have put a lie to this as it on Sunday, December 4, 2022, rolled out the drums to honour one of its illustrious, son, Chief Chizoba Ayika with the Entrepreneurial Role- Model.
The Enugwu-Ukwu Community said it was appreciative of the selfless contributions to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the town by Chief Ayika whose silent philanthropic strides have puts smiles on the faces of many hence the award.
Organised under the auspices of Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union (ECDU), Lagos branch, the event coincided with the Enugwu-Ukwu Day celebration which was also powered by ECDU.
The epoch event which took place at 3-5 Enugwu-Ukwu street, Lakeview Estate Phase by Capital Oil filling station, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, saw who is who in Enugwu-Ukwu in attendance.
The array of dignitries who graced the occasion heaped effusive praises on Chief Ayika for his developmental efforts, describing him as a man of the people whose achievements come without noise.
An industrialist, Chief Ayika is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Captino Global Group, a business conglomerate with interest in hospitality, manufacturing, cosmetics among others.
Among friends and associates of the Captino boss that graced the event were Chief Tony Okonkwo (Okpata Ozuora Ojoto), Chairman Dreams Cosmetics; Chief Kingsley Udechukwu (Ojimmadu Ojoto); Mr Magnus Ike, Chairman Magnum Forces Batteries; Chief Ingram Osigwe, Chairman Full page Communications Ltd. and many more other notable personalities.
Enugwu Ukwu (which literally translate to on top of a high hill) is a sprawling town in Anambra State and is geographically situated on hilly terrain; thus it is named after its geographical topography.
Located in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, major villages that make up the town include Uruokwe, Enu-Avomimi, Adagbe-Avomini, Umu-Atulu, Urualor, Akiyi, Avomimi, Awovu, Enuagu, Ire, Orji, Orofia, Osili, Umuakwu, Umuatulu, Umuatuora, Umuokpaleri, Uruekwo, Urukpaleke, Urunnebo, and Uruogbo.
Apart from Chief Ayika, Enugwu- Ukwu boasts of other prominent personalities who have over the years brought the town to limelight and put it on the world map through their various enviable endeavours.
These include, Ken Erics, a prominent actor and singer, Emeka Okafor, a professional basket player at Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, Dr Nkem Okeke, former Deputy governor of Anambra state( 2014 to 2022),Professor Bennet Omalu, a physician, Pathologist and neuropathologist at the University of California, USA., the late Chief FGN Okoye, a businessman, an industrialist among others.
