Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has taken Afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s son, Seun Kuti to the cleaners for calling her out for arresting internet personality and social media critic, VeryDarkMan.
The actress stated that Fela Anikulapo Kuti had paid the dues for the children and that some of the things that Seun will say and he will get away with, that others might not.
Iyabo Ojo, revealed that the late Fela and her father were friends. The actress stated this in a video message on her Instagram page while she threatened to drag VeryDarkMan to court for accusing her, Samklef and Tonto Dikeh of collecting N65 million from people for justice for late singer, Mohbad.
She said; “Seun, listen to me carefully. People should show Seun Kuti this video.”
“There’s a difference between insult and defamation. VDM accused me and others of collecting N65m from people to get justice for Mohbad. My partner, Paul O, asked me to drop the case I had with VeryDarkMan months ago and now he has seen for himself what I went through.”
“If you insult me I will let it slide but if you defame me, I won’t let it slide.”
“You cannot come online and accuse me of collecting money. Seun Kuti should stop twisting words. You cannot come and defame my character.”
“When Seun Kuti supported VeryDarkMan, I sent him a message to explain to him and it ended there.”
If you want to be an activist, be a good activist and don’t use your activism to pull others down.”
“Back to Seun, there is a different between insult and defamation. If you defame me I will come for you. Your father paid the dues for you. You can say somethings and and people will look away and you can get away with it.”
For those who don’t know, Seun Kuti, recently called out Iyabo Ojo over her fight with VeryDarkMan.
The saxophonist, described the actress as an “oppresor” who goes about using the police to arrest people.
Seun Kuti, in in a video message shared on his Instagram page said Iyabo Ojo should come and arrest him too.
He said; “I’m not a confusionist. And there was no time I opposed you fighting VeryDarkMan. I only said you shouldn’t be locking people up.”
“If you’re angry I said you shouldn’t use the police to oppress people, please, don’t be angry. Continue to be an oppressor. Use the police to arrest everyone.”
“In fact, come and arrest me too. You guys are the billionaires, the owners of Nigeria, if you get angry, everywhere will explode. So don’t be angry.”
“I apologise for myself and on behalf of VeryDarkMan. Please, don’t flex your power. (Hisses) Nonsense!”
