Embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha has now been granted bail by the court.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court granted the actor bail in the sum of N2million (Two Million Naira) and two sureties.
However, the judge on Thursday, June 24th, 2021 ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relative of the actor and the other, a lawyer.
Baba Ijesha was arraigned at a Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja on Thursday.
Interestingly two (2) Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) and 17 other lawyers appeared at the Lagos State Special Offences Court on Thursday in Ikeja to argue the child molestation case against him.
The SANs are Dada Awosika and Babatunde Ogala. They appeared before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo during the Thursday’s proceedings while the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution, Olayinka Adeyemi and four other prosecutors appeared for the state.
Recall that Baba Ijesha was arrested in April this year for allegedly defiling Nigerian comedian, Princess’s foster daughter.
