He has served Nigeria as Senator and later as Governor of Lagos State. He is an icon of service who is never tired of offering his all for the good and progress of his fatherland. For him, the love of fatherland and serving it selflessly transcend all other love and service. He is Asiwaju (Senator) Ahmed Bola Tinubu!
Twenty three years after democracy returned and took its rightful place in the nation’s body politics as the prefered mode of government, Tinubu, one of the celebrated icons of the struggle that brought it about is set serve Nigeria again, this time around as president.
Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu’s landslide victory and subsequent emergence as the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC in keenly contested presidential primary for the next year’s presidential election signposts a country-wide acceptance of a man who knows what to do to fix Nigeria.
Asiwaju comes into the race with a father figure, as a unifier and a champion of equity, justice and fairness. Come next year, he will become Nigeria’s President at a time Nigeria is in dire need of his wealth of experience as an administrator per excellence.
Asiwaju is a soldier of democracy who has seen it all in political trenches and who will be leading our great party to an emphatic victory next year.
Who has suffered for democracy and freedom more than Asiwaju? In this present democratic dispensation, non, of course!
From his NADECO days to his exile days, to the ACN era and then to his immeasurable contribution to the formation of APC and its subsequent ascension to power in 2015 and 2019, there is no doubt that Asiwaju has laboured and sacrificed for democracy and its enthronement in our nation.
Therefore, not a few patriots and democrats agree that his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC is a fitting, proper and deserving reward for a man who has been on the battlefield for democracy and good governance for decades now.
As a die-hard disciple of Asiwaju, it is a giving, and I have an unwavering belief that as a soldier of democracy who has seen it all, my mentor, father and boss, the great Jagaban of Nigeria will lead the APC to seamless victory in the presidential election.
My appeal to Nigerians, especially Ndigbo, is to queue behind the man( Asiwaju) who knows the way, shows the way and leads the way so that as he looks back, he will find us matching with him to the threshold of victory.
Specifically to the Igbo, Asiwaju Tinubu is a leader who believes in power shift and no doubt, as a beneficiary of the power shift principle, he, as president, would assiduously work for a better deal for the Southeast. To key into the national power bloc, Ndigbo must, therefore, vote for Asiwaju.
