There Was No Election In Kogi State – Dino Melaye

The outcome of the governorship election in Kogi State has left several question marks. One of which is how did the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost in that manner.

Amidst all the controversies surrounding the election in the state, PDP’s governorship candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, has cried out to everyone that cares to know that there was no election in Kogi State.

The former lawmaker made the revelation on Channels TV Politics Today while he put clarification to his refusal to cast his vote during the governorship election.

He said: “The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status. People win elections in prison.”

“Legally, it has no relevance to the election. Whether I voted or not, it is immaterial.”

“I don’t want to talk about it; there was no election in Kogi State on Saturday.”

For those who don’t know, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo has been declared winner of the Kogi State governorship election.

Ododo polled 446,237 votes to defeat the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Murtala Ajaka, who came second with 259,052 votes while PDP’s Dino Melaye came third with 46,362 votes.
