The first reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Lagos has dropped, and it’s already serving up the sort of drama we’ve come to expect. From the glamorous get-ups to proper set-tos, here are five key moments that have got everyone talking:

The Big Entrances and a Hint of Frostiness
The reunion kicked off with the ladies making their smashing arrivals. Carolyna Hutchings was the first to grace the stage, followed by Dabota Lawson. Diiadem Adeola Adeyemi made her entrance third, while Sophia Momodu made a right impression in a stunning gold frock, greeting everyone with a rather regal “My Queens!” Marima Timmer followed, delivering a cheeky “there’s no sleep for the wicked” after a compliment from our host, Uti Nwachukwu. However, despite the initial buzz, Carolyna’s noticeably “frosty” manner while Uti was praising the women hinted that not all was rosy and foreshadowed a bit of argy-bargy to come.
The Boat Trip Revisited
One of the season’s early dramas, all that kerfuffle about the boat trip, was tackled straight away. Uti Nwachukwu didn’t hang about before getting stuck into the misunderstandings between Sophia Momodu and Dabota Lawson. Flashbacks of their initial row were shown, reminding viewers what started it all. Sophia stuck to her facts about not knowing what was going on at the time, and fans’ tweets backed her up on that. Dabota Lawson clarified that the boat itself wasn’t the issue, but more the “approach” and certain “unnecessary comments.”
Carolyna Hutchings in the Hot Seat
Things got a bit tense when Diiadem Adeyemi let on how fed up she was at being kept waiting by the other housewives, particularly feeling that Carolyna Hutchings “dwelt on” it. But the real fireworks started when the host turned his attention to Carolyna’s repeated rather cutting remarks about Diiadem throughout the season. Clips of Carolyna calling Diiadem as having a “character flaw,” an “inferiority complex,” and being “easily controlled” were played, leaving the audience and Diiadem looking properly gobsmacked. Uti directly challenged Carolyna, asking, “What exactly do you have against Diiadem?”
Diiadem Adeyemi vs. Mariam Timmer
The focus then shifted to the rather strained relationship between Diiadem and Marima. Old clips highlighted their differences, leading to Diiadem accusing Mariam of being a “bully.” Things got a bit more complicated when Diiadem made it clear she was upset about Mariam calling Carolyna at her party amidst all their differences. While Laura Ikeji offered a balanced view, Marima stood her ground, saying she didn’t owe Diiadem an apology. However, in a bit of a surprise, Marima eventually offered an olive branch, leading to a bit of a tearful apology from both of them.
As the episode drew to a close, the promise of more drama in the upcoming second part of the reunion, airing next Sunday, the 20th of April, at 8:30 PM WAT on Africa Magic Showcase, left viewers keen to see how these unresolved bits and bobs will play out. The fact that not everything’s been sorted and the clear mention of a second part means the drama’s far from over, isn’t it? It keeps viewers hooked and looking forward to seeing what else unfolds in the next episode.
