Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli North Local Government Area for the council elections in the State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo
has kicked off his campaigns with a promise to give the council area a face lift if elected.
Making the promise when his campaign train visied Orogun and Agbarha wards on Thursday, reiterated his resolve to reinforce the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori the local government area.
Soliciting the support of the people at the polls, he said: “We have already drawn the metropolitan map of Ughelli North, it is no longer the Ughelli Urban because there is no difference between Ughelli and the Agbarha, and Ogor as they make up the metropolis and we will ensure we maintain a clean environment.”
“Our primary schools need encouragement because that is the foundation for all of us and we will ensure that the teachers are given adequate motivation and properly checked.”
“We will encourage our people to go back to farming, it is scandalous in a local government where we have a very big landmass,we are buying garri for N4,000, we will support them with whatever we do.”
“We encourage our people to vote massively for the party because our governor and the party aredoing well and we will continue to do well”.
According to him; “One of three key objectives we have is cleanliness, if you look at the council you can see it is very dirty and we are going to embark on serious environmental sanitation.”
“On shoring up our internally generated revenue, we have found out that the monies are going into private pockets compared to what is going into our treasury and we will put a stop to that.”
“The highest among all we have listed is security, we are going to ensure there is the security of lives, properties. We want to do away with kidnappings in working with the state government, the Nigeria Police, and all the security agencies to ensure that people are secured.”
“Once the people are secured, businesses will boom and when businesses boom the people will live well.”
“Hopefully and by the grace of God, when I come into the council,I will do things differently as my hope and aspiration are different from others.”
“I am not a starter, I have been around politics and there are things I think I don’t need to to struggle for anymore because I have already gotten them because God has had given me.”
“The little money we will have, I think we will be spent wisely and the people will be happy.”
