A divisional police officer in charge of Magami Division under Gusau Local Government in Zamfara State who was kidnapped five days ago, ASP Usman Aliyu has been rescued unhurt by newly inaugurated community protection guards.
The state governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, thanked Almighty Allah for the life of the abducted police officer, adding that the newly inaugurated community protection guards have just began to discharge the responsibilities reposed on them.
It maybe recalled that, Governor Matawalle in his efforts to totally wipe away banditry and other crimes in the state, this week distributed 1, 500 motorcycle and 20 Hilux Vehicles equipped with communication gadgets to the Community protection guards to respond to any security threat in the state
