Zamfara State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Hon.Tukur Umar Danfulani and governor Matawalle have been honoured with awards of excellence by the students of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria who were the chairman’s former colleagues at the institute.
The awards were officially presented to the chairman by the Students Union Government President, Ambassador Huzaifa Bella in a brief ceremony at City King Hotel, Gusau.
Ambassador Huzaifa said, the Chairman, being former student of the institute was recognized for his enormous contributions to the development of his former Department of Administration and Local Government Studies and the students of the Polytechnic during and even after completing his studies.
The President further said; “This is in recognition of your immense contributions and support towards the academic excellence of Diploma in Local Government and Development Studies
Class of 2021.”
He also described Hon. Tukur Umar as a beacon of hope to all the students, not only of Zamfara but in Nigeria considering his detribalistic nature and philanthropic exposure while in the school.
Responding, the state APC Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani appreciated his former school mates for finding him worthy of the award which is aimed at motivating him to do more
He said education is one of the top priorities of governor Bello Matawalle’s administration which is key to any development and that the government is doing very well in that direction.
He explained that a lot of State indigenes were currently being sponsored within and outside the country and undergoing different courses of their choices.
Danfulani further assured to do more in supporting governor Matawalle’s policies and programmes especially, education.
The event was attended by the APC Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka, Assistant Publicity Secretary, Junaidu Attahiru Dosara, Coordinator Administration and Local government Studies of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Mallam Ahmad Sabo, Students of the institution among others.
