A 60-year-old acclaimed pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church, Obatayo Adetunji, has been disowned by the church for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.
According to the church, the suspect is not affiliated with the Deeper Life Ministry as a pastor.
The church in a statement issued by Oka Regional Overseer, Pastor Oludu David, condemned the rumour circulating on social media that Adetunji was a pastor in the region .
He said; “Adetunji is neither a pastor nor a worker at Deeper Life Bible Church in Oka Region. He is not a regular member of Deeper Life Bible Church in Oka Akoko but only sought financial assistance from the church in 2023.”
“We urged the public to disregard the affiliation of the purported pastor.”
However, the suspect was immediately arrested by the men of the state police command after the victim informed her parents about the sexual relationship with the accused person.
Besides, the suspect was charged to court on three counts bordering on defilement and unlawfully prescribing drugs to procure an abortion for the victim.
