Alunmi of the prestigious Akokwa High School, are bereaved. They recently lost one of their own, Engr. Dr Francis Nnamuzie Uzondu.
According to the President of the Alunmi association, Lambert Eze, the late Uzondu was of the 1972 set.
Dr Francis Uzondu was one of the most vibrant students of his set.
He was noted for his good command of the English language. Because of that he was held in high regards by fellow students.
In the words of Eze; “The late Dr. Uzonduu was a gentleman, a diligent academic, and one of our Alumni of High Achievement (ALOHA).”
“His passage came when we needed him most. We shall greatly miss him.”
Dr Uzondu had Bsc Chemistry( Ibadan), PGD & Msc chemical engineering( university of lagos) PHD materials science engineering.
He was a Senior Lecturer in the Dept. of Chemical Engineering (Futo, Owerri). Dr. Uzondu died in August.
Aged 65, the late Dr. Uzondu will be buried Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at his home town, Umukegwu, Akokwa, Ideato North local government area of Imo state after a funeral mass in his compound.
Eze in a press statement implored all members to, in their usual tradition , show strong presence at Dr Uzondu’s burial.
“We need to show a strong presence at the burial.We need volunteers, as usual,” Eze said in the statement.
