Nollywood actress, Jane Thomas Rogers, popularly known as JT Rogers is set to take Maryland by storm come Sunday, November 24th, 2019 for the first of its kind award, tagged; ‘Maryland Concert & Award’ which is dedicated to celebrate great minds from the metropolis of Maryland.
The award is scheduled to hold at the popular Jegreat Event Centre, No. 19, Sobo Siffre Street, Arowojobe Estate, Mende, Maryland by 3pm. The event is aimed at celebrating existing talents in Maryland.
The Covener of Maryland Concerts and Award, JT Rogers disclosed that; “These individuals whose collective contribution to development of Maryland community and the larger society cannot go unnoticed, thus the expedient need to honour them.”
“In the highest echelon of these wonderful individuals includes; Dbanj, Yemi Alade, Ambassador Halima Abubakar, Chief Dele Momodu, Honourable Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, Hon. Prince Adedamola Richard, Efemoney (Ex-BBNaija winner), Chief Don Sylvester, Yinka Akerele, Alhaji Rabiu Admed to mention but a few.”
Speaking on her decision to pick Maryland for the show, the screen diva said; “We observed that Maryland has suffered absence of entertainment activities over the years. Most entertainment shows are being held in other areas like Ikeja, V.I, etc.”
JT Rogers commenting also on the purpose of the event, said; “We intend to turn Maryland into entertainment hub which will in turn bring about development in the community. We intend to encourage artiste to promote positive music which will speak against the ills of the society such as hard drugs, cultism, homosexuality, corruption, cybercrime, etc.”
“In a way, the award show will honour the bright stars from Maryland who are doing great exploits in every sectors of the economy. I also want to use the platform to promote the upcoming talents in Maryland”.
