Zee World Premiers Show With A Zulu Language Soundtrack

Representing a first for Zee World in Africa, the channel has announced the exciting premiere of Jodha & Akbar that will be available in both English and Zulu languages. Debuting on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 on DSTV channel 166 at 21:00, Jodha & Akbar again demonstrates Zee World’s commitment to bringing innovative content closer to the hearts of its viewers.

We have throughout endeavoured to consistently bring new and relevant shows for our viewers. We have brought innovative programming first’s like extended viewing hours and integrated productions like ‘Mehek’ with local African stars for the first time in an Indian series. Jodha & Akbar is yet another way we are bringing Zee closer to home by offering it in a vernacular language.”

Jodha & Akbar, set in the 16th century, is a period drama from the pages of Indian history and narrates the story of a marriage of political alliance between the Muslim Emperor Akbar and the Hindu Princess Jodha.

King Akbar’s is set on conquering and ruling the whole of India. To save her father’s kingdom, Princess Jodha makes the ultimate sacrifice and marries Akbar.  She reluctantly goes to his palace only to find that she is one of many wives where she faces extreme opposition.   Jodha must fight for her husband’s affection and hopes to ultimately transform him into a more compassionate ruler.
