There seemed to be rising tension in the ancient city of Kano as the reinstated Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II and the dethroned Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, have revealed plans to pray Jumaat prayers at the Palace Central Mosque.
According to our sources, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, has been leading the Jumaat Prayers at the Palace Central Mosque as the Emir of Kano.
Besides, sources said Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, resides in the Palace, which makes him closer to the Mosque, therefore, is expected to lead the two Friday prayers.
In a statement signed by Danburan Kano, Munir Sanusi Bayero, it stated that Kano residents are invited to come and listen to the sermon to be delivered by Emir Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II.
However, on the other hand, a statement from an aide of the deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, its says residents are invited to join him at the Emir’s Palace Mosque on Friday to observe the Juma’at prayer.
It would be recalled that Emir Sanusi Lamido was reinstated by the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf by dethroning Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
For those who don’t know, Sanusi Lamido was dethroned by the former governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje.
