Lagos Lawmaker Congratulates Christians On Ash Wednesday, Urges Prayer For Tinubu

Honorable Prince Nureni Akinsanya, a Member of the Lagos House of Assembly representing Mushin Constituency I, has extended warm congratulations to the Christian faithful in his constituency as Ash Wednesday marks the commencement of the Lenten season. He urges Christians to pray for Nigeria’s progress and for President Bola Tinubu.

He disclosed this through a statement on Wednesday, expressing his heartfelt wishes to the Christian community in Mushin Constituency I, Lagos State, and the country, Nigeria.

According to him, Ash Wednesday is a significant observance for various Christian denominations across the Western and African regions. It is a moment of prayer and fasting. It holds great importance as it initiates the six-week period of penance known as Lent, leading up to the celebration of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ in Christian belief.

Akinsanya urges them to consider this sacred period as an opportunity to cleanse their sins, focus on redemption and forgiveness, reinvigorate their hopes, and strive for purity and prosperity.
