Nigerian football star and Napoli FC striker, Victor Osimhen, has revealed to everyone that cares to know why he usually wear face mask during football matches.
The goal machine disclosed that he has screws passed through his jaws and face as a result of the injury he sustained in his face.
He lamented that he would have to wear face mask for the rest of his career.
Osimhen made the heart-warming revelation in an interview recently.
He said: “I have to wear the mask for the rest of my career because I have screws that actually pass through my jaws and face. I still have them till now.”
“The last match I played against Cagliari – when I headed the ball, I had blood on my face, and the goalkeeper also hit my face, and there was blood that was even with the mask on.”
“So it is really dangerous for me to play without using the mask, of course.”
For those who don’t know, Osimhen suffered the facial injury in a clash of heads with Milan’s Skriniar during a Serie A game between Napoli and Inter Milan on November 21, 2021.
Osimhen began to use protective face mask after he returned from the injury.
