Nigerian music star, Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley has finally broken his silence on the controversial death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba a.k.a Mohbad.

The internet has been agog following the death of the young star as many people are pointing accusing fingers on Naira Marley.

Recall that Mohbad before his shocking death had cried out to Nigerians that they should hold his former boss (Naira Marley) responsible should anything happen to him.

Be that as it may, Naira Marley, speaking with Reno Omokri on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 said; “There’s some other time when I was in America and his girl called me and said he locked himself in a toilet and wanted to kill himself and I called him and kind of recorded the conversation asking him ‘why do you want to kill yourself?”

“If your family is stressing you out, just tell them to go.’ ‘You’re a king, chill and do whatever you wanna do. Don’t kill yourself.”

“If you kill yourself now what do you want people to say? You just made a video not long ago saying if you die they should hold Naira Marley?!”

“He locked himself in a room and this was after he made the video that I wanted to kill him. So I was so concerned…”

“Till today I don’t understand. I tried to get him help when he went out like that. I wasn’t even in the country when he made that video.”

“I was out of the country. I’m sure it was during the NDLEA arrest that he made the video. Looking at the video again, I was getting information from everybody that was there because like I said, I wasn’t in the country.”

“I kind of sent someone to the NDLEA before I got back. When I got back the next day, they said Mohbad was not there. They said Mohbad wasn’t among the people arrested.”

“I didn’t bail Mohbad out anyway. It’s only Zino. So it was that paranoia…Zino was still in the NDLEA when Mohbad made that video. I wasn’t around.”

“I was outside Nigeria when he made that video saying if he dies they should hold Naira Marley and the Marlians. So when I got back I asked him. When I got back, I met him.”

“I spoke to him trying to find out what was wrong but he said he didn’t understand and apologised. Yes. He apologised. I have a video on that.”
