PDP Crisis Deepens As Atiku Dumps Wike

The lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken another interesting dimension.

For those who don’t know, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies have refused to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the 2023 presidential election.

This is consequent to their demands that the party national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu must resign as the party leader.

However, Atiku Abubakar, in a latest development said he is no longer bothered about the leadership crisis rocking the party.

Atiku said; “We are yet to resolve the matter. But we have moved on, I don’t have any worries about that anymore.”

“And at this junction, it’s improper to talk about leadership change in the party while elections are fast approaching.”

It is interesting to know that efforts made by the party’s stakeholders to restore peace and normalcy had proved abortive after series of meetings with Wike and his team failed to yield positive results.
