As a result of his remarkable and spectacular contributions to the Nigerian society in defending the voiceless, down-trodden and oppressed, and in fighting for a better and more equitable society, Ozekhome has received many local and international recognition and awards, among which are his nomination to be conferred with the Prestigious National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), by His Excellence, President and Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
On the 15th of October, 2022, this great pan-Nigerian prodigy Known as Akpakpa Vighi Vighi of Edoland will turn 65. This calls for huge celebrations as he surely looks far younger than his real age. Still in this mood of celebration, Nigeria and Africa’s leading university and one of the top 300 universities in the world, the Afe Babalola University(ABUAD), Ado Ekiti, is set to honour him with the prestigious LL.D Doctorate degree (HC) on 21st October, 2022, a day after he delivers the 10th Convocation lecture.
